  50. 1. INTRODUCTION:  
  51.  
  52.     This is a demonstration version of AutoMate/PRO.  It will run AutoCAD 
  53.     for 15 minutes before suspending digitizer input to AutoCAD.  You will
  54.     be warned at about the 13 minute mark via a dialog box that you have 
  55.     only several minutes left.  Upon completion of the demonstration, another
  56.     dialog box will inform you that you do have keyboard control as a means  
  57.     of exiting AutoCAD.
  58.  
  59.     This should be unzipped into it's own directory so that you can easily 
  60.     remove it later (for example c:\automate).
  61.  
  62.     If you have AutoCAD Release 12, you can begin running AutoMate/PRO by:
  63.  
  64.     - Adding the Automate directory to the ACADDRV environment variable
  65.     - Starting AutoCAD with acad -r
  66.     - Selecting AutoMate/PRO from the menu
  67.  
  68.     If you need more information, refer to this file.  There may be some 
  69.     references in this file that do not pertain to this demo version of 
  70.     AutoMate/PRO (i.e. the INSTALL facility).  We have kept them documented
  71.     for your information concerning our retail version.
  72.  
  73.     Feel free to pass the automate.zip demonstation file along to others.

  75.     AutoMate/PRO is more than just a display driver for AutoCAD. AutoMate/PRO
  76.     includes many features and tools that have been designed to enhance the
  77.     productivity of the AutoCAD user. For example the AutoMate/PRO software
  78.     utilizes your systems extended memory to maintain a "Display List" which
  79.     will provide for very fast pans, zooms and redraws. AutoMate/PRO also
  80.     includes several tools such as Birdseye, Magnifying Glass, Real Time
  81.     PAN and ZOOM and a user configurable ICON menu. Refer to the AutoMate/PRO
  82.     users Guide for information on how to use AutoMate/PRO's productivity
  83.     tools.

  87. 2. HARDWARE COMPATIBILITY:
  88.  
  89.    A. Computer - DOS-based 386 or 486 PC with 640K base memory plus a minimum
  90.          of 4-Megabytes Extended memory. More extended memory is
  91.          preferred especially for AutoCAD 12. If you are working with
  92.          large drawings (1 Meg or more) then we recommend that you
  93.          have a minimum of 8-Megabytes of Extended memory. You should
  94.          also have a minimum of 5-Megabytes of free disk space on 
  95.          the hard drive that you are using for AutoCAD swap files.
  96.  
  97.    B. Graphics Card - This version of AutoMate/PRO is compatible with the fol-
  98.               lowing types of Graphics Adapters:
  99.  
  100.       a. Tseng Labs ET4000 based Super VGA cards.
  101.       b. S3 based Super VGA cards.
  102.       c. ATI Ultra or Ultra/PRO
  103.       d. Compaq QVision
  104.       e. Video 7 VRAMII
  105.       f. Standard IBM compatible VGA cards (640 x 480 resolution).
  106.       g. 100% VESA compatible Super VGA cards (256 color modes only).
  107.       h. 100% TIGA (Version 2.0 or greater) compatible graphics cards.
  108.  
  109.     Refer to the "COMPATIBLE DISPLAY ADAPTERS" section below for more
  110.     information on installing and using these graphics adapters with
  111.     AutoMate/PRO.

  115. 3. SOFTWARE COMPATIBILITY:
  116.  
  117.      This version of AutoMate/PRO is compatible with the following 
  118.      Autodesk applications:
  119.  
  120.            A. AutoCAD 386 Release 10_c10
  121.            B. AutoCAD 386 Release 11
  122.            C. AutoCAD 386 Release 12
  123.            D. AutoCAD 12's AVE-Render
  124.  
  125.      Note: For 3D-Studio or AutoShade 2.X, install the driver from the
  126.        AutoMate/PRO for 3D-Studio disk. (Note: While 3D-Studio and 
  127.        AutoShade 2.X are supported in the retail version of AutoMate/PRO,
  128.        this support is NOT included in this demonstration version).

  132. 4. BEFORE INSTALLING AutoMate/PRO:
  133.  
  134.        a. Install your Graphics Adapter.
  135.  
  136.        b. Install the appropriate Autodesk application.
  137.  
  138.        c. Configure the application for standard VGA and test the application
  139.       to make sure your graphics card and application are installed
  140.       correctly.
  141.  
  142.        d. Make sure your Graphics adapter is configured correctly so that it
  143.       is compatible with your monitor and the display resolution that 
  144.       you pick during AutoMate/PRO installation.
  145.  
  146.        e. If you have a VESA compatible Super VGA (other than an ET4000,
  147.       S3, Video 7 VRAMII, ATI Ultra or Compaq QVision) install the VESA
  148.       driver required by your card.
  149.  
  150.        f. If you have a TIGA compatible adapter, install the TIGA driver
  151.       required by your card.

  155. 5. INSTALLING AutoMate/PRO: (Note: install.exe is NOT included in demo).
  156.  
  157.      This disk contains an automatic installation utility (INSTALL.EXE)
  158.      which will copy to your hard disk all the files for running AutoMate/PRO
  159.      with your Autodesk application. INSTALL will also optionally edit your 
  160.      system's AUTOEXEC.BAT file.
  161.  
  162.  
  163.      To begin the AutoMate/PRO software installation:
  164.  
  165.     a. Insert the "AutoMate/PRO" disk into floppy drive A or B.
  166.  
  167.     b. Make the selected floppy the current drive and type INSTALL 
  168.        <Enter> from the DOS prompt. Follow the instructions on the
  169.        screen.
  170.        
  171.     c. First you will be asked to select the type of Display Adapter
  172.        that you are going to use to run AutoCAD. 
  173.  
  174.        For more information on AutoMate/PRO compatible display adapters
  175.        see the section "COMPATIBLE DISPLAY ADAPTERS" below.
  176.  
  177.     d. You will be asked to select the display resolution at which
  178.        you wish to run AutoMate/PRO. However if you select Standard VGA
  179.        you will not be asked to select a resolution. For the Standard VGA,
  180.        only 640x480 resolution will be available. AutoMate/PRO currently 
  181.        supports four resolutions: 1280x1024, 1024x768, 800x600 and 
  182.        640x480, however you must make sure your graphics card supports
  183.        the resolution that you select.
  184.  
  185.        Select the resolution that is appropriate for your monitor and
  186.        Adapter. 
  187.  
  188.     e. You will be asked to select a drive and destination subdirectory
  189.        on your hard disk for AutoMate/PRO files. The default is 
  190.        C:\AUTOMATE. However, you may select any available drive and enter
  191.        a different subdirectory. The subdirectory will be created if it
  192.        does not already exist. 
  193.  
  194.     f. INSTALL will copy the AutoMate/PRO files to the specified
  195.        directory on your hard disk.
  196.  
  197.     g. Next you will be asked if we can modify your AUTOEXEC.BAT file.
  198.        We recommend that you answer YES; otherwise you will have to
  199.        manually edit your AUTOEXEC.BAT file or create another batch
  200.        file containing the given lines. The lines added will be similar
  201.        to the following:
  202.  
  203.              SET AMATERES=1024,768
  204.              SET DSPADI=C:\AUTOMATE\RCAMATE.EXP
  205.              SET ACADDRV=C:\ACAD12\DRV;C:\AUTOMATE
  206.  
  207.  
  208.        Attention AutoCAD 12 users:
  209.        ----------------------------
  210.         The AutoCAD environment variable "ACADDRV" must be set (as
  211.         shown in the example below) to tell AutoCAD 12 where to find the
  212.         AutoMate/PRO Display/Rendering driver and the Digitizer and
  213.         Plotter drivers.
  214.  
  215.         SET ACADDRV=C:\ACAD12\DRV;C:\AUTOMATE
  216.  
  217.         CAUTION !!!!
  218.  
  219.           If you have multiple "SET ACADDRV" statements, the last one 
  220.           executed will override any previous ones. 
  221.  
  222.  
  223.        Attention AutoCAD 11 or AutoCAD 10_c10 users:
  224.        ---------------------------------------------
  225.         The AutoCAD environment variable "DSPADI" must be set (as
  226.         shown in the example below) to tell AutoCAD the name of and 
  227.         where to find the AutoMate/PRO Display driver.
  228.  
  229.               SET DSPADI=C:\AUTOMATE\AUTOMATE.EXP
  230.  
  231.  
  232.     h. After you have completed the installation, re-boot your system
  233.        so that the changes in Autoexec.bat will take effect. If you are
  234.        using a batch file (i.e. ACAD386 or ACADR12) to start AutoCAD make
  235.        sure the batch file contains all the commands required for loading
  236.        AutoMate/PRO.
  237.  
  238.  
  239.      A. ACAD11 or ACAD10 (P386) with TIGA compatible adapters.
  240.  
  241.      Ignore the instructions below if you are running AutoCAD 12 or if
  242.      you are not using a TIGA compatible adapter.
  243.  
  244.      After you complete the installation (described above in steps a-h)
  245.      from this diskette, you will have to copy the file AMTIGA11.EXE from
  246.      the diskette labeled "AutoMate/PRO for 3D-Studio" to the 
  247.      AUTOMATE directory.
  248.  
  249.      To do this just insert the "AutoMate/PRO for 3D-Studio"
  250.      diskette into your floppy drive, make the floppy the current drive
  251.      and type:
  252.  
  253.            COPY AMTIGA11.EXE  C:\AUTOMATE
  254.  
  255.      AMTIGA11.EXE is a self-extracting compressed file so after you
  256.      copy it you will have to execute it to decompress it.
  257.           
  258.      To do this, change directory to AUTOMATE directory and type: 
  259.  
  260.              AMTIGA11 
  261.  
  262.       When you see the message:
  263.  
  264.      "Warning RCAMATE.EXP already exists. Overwrite?"   type "Y" for yes.
  265.  
  266.      NOTE: If you upgrade to ACAD 12 later then you will have to 
  267.            re-install from the AutoMate/PRO for DOS diskette.
  268.

  271. 6. CONFIGURING Autodesk applications for AutoMate/PRO:
  272.  
  273.   A. AutoCAD 386 Release 12 Display Configuration -
  274.  
  275.       a. Type  "ACAD -r" <ENTER>  from the AutoCAD directory to display
  276.          AutoCADs' Configuration menu. Or if you are already in AutoCAD's
  277.          graphics screen you can select "configure" from the "file" 
  278.          pull-down menu.
  279.  
  280.       b. From the Configuration menu select "Configure video display".
  281.  
  282.       c. When asked if you wish to change the display answer `Y' and
  283.          then select "AutoMate/PRO ADI 4.2".
  284.  
  285.       d. Next you will be asked if you wish to run AutoTune. AutoTune 
  286.          is a convenient utility which allows you to customize your 
  287.          AutoCAD display as well as AutoMate's features.
  288.  
  289.       e. AutoCAD's configuration utility will continue by asking you
  290.          several questions. In order to have access to all of the 
  291.          AutoMate/PRO functions such as on screen icons and popdown
  292.          menus you should select the default answers to each of the
  293.          questions by pressing the <ENTER> key after each question.
  294.  
  295.  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
  296.  
  297.   B. AutoCAD 386 Release 11 or release 10_c10 Display Configuration -
  298.  
  299.       a. Type  `ACAD' <ENTER>  from the AutoCAD directory to display
  300.          the AutoCAD main menu.
  301.  
  302.       b. At the Main menu select the `Configure AutoCAD' option.
  303.  
  304.       c. From the Configuration menu select `Configure video display'.
  305.  
  306.       d. When asked if you wish to change the display answer `Y' and then
  307.          select `ADI P386 v4.0/4.1 display' (for AutoCAD Release 11) or
  308.          `ADI P386 display' (for AutoCAD release 10 P386 Mode) from the 
  309.          list of Available Video Displays.
  310.  
  311.       e. You will be asked if you wish to run AutoTune. AutoTune is a
  312.          convenient utility which allows you to customize your AutoCAD
  313.          display as well as AutoMate's features..
  314.  
  315.       f. AutoCAD's configuration utility will continue by asking you
  316.          several questions. In order to have access to all of the

  323.   C. AVE-Render configuration -
  324.  
  325.      The AVE-Render configuration procedure is slightly different depending
  326.      on wheather you are configuring for the first time with AutoMate/PRO or
  327.      if you are Re-Configuring. The procedure will also be a little different
  328.      if you have AutoMate's "Viewport RenderReady" enabled in AutoTune.
  329.  
  330.   Initial AVE-Render Configuration:
  331.   ..........................................................................
  332.     a. Select "Preferences" from RENDER pull-down menu.
  333.     b. You will be asked to Select rendering display device.
  334.     c. Enter option 1 (AutoCAD's configured P386 ADI combined display/
  335.        rendering driver.
  336.     d. If you do Not have AutoMate's "Viewport RenderReady" enabled, you
  337.        will be asked to select the desired rendering mode. Enter 0 for 256-
  338.        color mode or 1 for RenderReady mode.
  339.     e. Next you will be asked to Select mode to run display/rendering 
  340.        combined driver. Enter 1 to display in an AutoCAD viewport without
  341.        doing a flipscreen. Enter 2 to display in a seperate rendering
  342.        screen by doing a flipscreen.
  343.     f. Next you will be asked to select the rendering hard copy device.
  344.        Select the appropriate option for your printer or plotter.
  345.     g. Next, the Rendering Preferences dialog box will appear.
  346.     h. Just pick the OK button in the dialog box and the AVE-Render
  347.        configuration will be complete.
  348.

  350.   Re-configure AVE-Render:
  351.   ..........................................................................
  352.     a. Select "Preferences" from RENDER pull-down menu.
  353.     b. Next, the Rendering Preferences dialog box will appear.
  354.     c. Pick the "Re-configure" button in the dialog box and the current
  355.        configuration will be shown.
  356.     d. Press <ENTER> to continue.
  357.     e. Then enter option 2 (Configure Rendering Device).
  358.     f. Your current rendering device will be shown.
  359.     g. If your current device is not shown as "AutoCAD's configured P386 
  360.        ADI combined display/rendering driver" then enter "Y" to select
  361.        different device. 
  362.     h. Enter option 1 "AutoCAD's configured P386 ADI combined display/
  363.        rendering driver".
  364.     i. If you do Not have AutoMate's "Viewport RenderReady" enabled, you
  365.        will be asked to select the desired rendering mode. Enter 0 for 256-
  366.        color mode or 1 for RenderReady mode.
  367.     j. Next you will be asked to Select mode to run display/rendering 
  368.        combined driver. Enter 1 to display in an AutoCAD viewport without
  369.        doing a flipscreen. Enter 2 to display in a seperate rendering
  370.        screen by doing a flipscreen.
  371.     k. Then enter option 0 (Exit to drawing editor).
  372.     l. Enter "Y" to keep configuration changes.
  373.

  376.   D. DSPADI variable for ACAD11 or 3D-Studio:
  377.  
  378.       If you are going to be running AutoCAD 11 or 10 (P386) and AutoSHade
  379.       or 3D-Studio you will have to re-set the DSPADI environment variable
  380.       when you switch between AutoCAD 11 or 10 and and 3D-Studio or Shade.
  381.  
  382.       The reason for this is that there are currently two seperate drivers.
  383.       One driver (RCAMATE.EXP) supports AutoCAD Rel. 12, 11 and 10 (P386).
  384.       The other driver (AUTOMATE.EXP) supports 3D-Studio and AutoShade.
  385.  
  386.       AutoCAD 11 and 10 (P386) require the environment variable DSPADI to
  387.       be set to point to the RCAMATE driver as shown in the following 
  388.       example:
  389.  
  390.              SET DSPADI=C:\AUTOMATE\RCAMATE.EXP
  391.  
  392.       However, the problem is that 3D-Studio and AutoShade also require that
  393.       DSPADI (as well as RDPADI and RCPADI) be set as shown in the following
  394.       example:
  395.       
  396.              SET DSPADI=C:\AMATE3DS\AUTOMATE.EXP
  397.  
  398.       Since there are two different drivers you cannot have DSPADI set to
  399.       both at the same time. 
  400.  
  401.       Therefore if you are going to be switching back and forth between
  402.       AutoCAD 11 or 10 (P386) and 3D-Studio or AutoShade, we recommend that
  403.       you use batch files to set the appropriate DSPADI ( as well as the
  404.       other set statements) for each application. The following are examples
  405.       of two batch files you may want to use:
  406.  
  407.        Sample batch file for setting up AutoMate for AutoCAD rel 11 or 10.

  428. 7. COMPATIBLE DISPLAY ADAPTERS:
  429.  
  430.      AutoMate/PRO is compatible with a variety of different types of display
  431.      adapters. However AutoMate's performance and display resolution will
  432.      vary depending upon which type of adapter you are using. 
  433.  
  434.      AutoMate/PRO has been optimized to provide the best performance on 
  435.      Super VGA's that are based on the S3 or Tseng ET4000 chips. AutoMate has
  436.      also been optimized for high performance on the ATI Ultra card as well
  437.      Compaq's QVision. Most of these cards will display 256 or more colors at
  438.      1024 x 768 resolution.
  439.  
  440.      AutoMate's performance on TIGA based adapters may vary widely depending
  441.      on the speed and type of Graphics processor (TMS34010 or TMS34020) that
  442.      is used. The speed and amount of onboard memory as well as the ef-
  443.      ficiency of the Tiga software interface may also affect the overall
  444.      performance of AutoMate/PRO on Tiga based adapters.
  445.  
  446.  
  447.      A. VESA compatible SVGA:
  448.  
  449.     Requires a Super VGA card that is 100% compatible with the VESA 
  450.     (Video Electronics Standards Association) specification (ver. 1.00
  451.     or greater). In order for AutoMate/PRO to work with a VESA compatible
  452.     adapter, the driver and adpater must be able to display 256 colors at 
  453.     the resolution you select. If the card can only display 16 colors at
  454.     1024 x 768 then AutoMate will default to a lower resolution that can 
  455.     display 256 colors.
  456.  
  457.     Requires that a VESA driver that is compatible with the VGA be
  458.     loaded in addition to AutoMate/PRO. 
  459.  
  460.     If you received a VESA driver with your VGA then install it.
  461.            
  462.     We have included VESA drivers for a few popular SVGA cards (as listed
  463.     below) which you may wish to try if your VGA did not come with a VESA
  464.     driver:
  465.            
  466.             ATI VGA Wonder            Tseng Labs ET 3000/4000
  467.             Genoa                     Video 7
  468.             Trident                   Western Digital
  469.  
  470.     These VESA drivers will be copied to a VESA subirectory under the 
  471.     directory you use for AutoMate/PRO installation.
  472.  
  473.     We have also included a utility "VESALIST.EXE" which will be copied 
  474.     to the same directory as the VESA drivers. After you install the ap-
  475.     propriate VESA driver for your card you can run VESALIST to determine
  476.     the resolution and color capabilities of your VGA and VESA driver.
  477.  
  478.     VESALIST will display information similar to the following:
  479.  
  480.       VESA256->  0103h    800x600x1  8bpp  8x14 Color Packed Pixel Grfx
  481.       VESA256->  0105h   1024x768x1  8bpp  8x16 Color Packed Pixel Grfx

  485.       B. Tseng ET4000 based SVGA:
  486.  
  487.     Requires a Super VGA that is based on the Tseng Labs ET4000 chip. 
  488.     Also requires 1 Meg of RAM on board.

  490.     Most ET4000 cards require that a "video mode" utility be run to 
  491.     configure the card for the desired resolution and scan frequencies. 
  492.     Refer to your VGA users manual to determine how to set the video
  493.     mode to the correct resolution and scan frequencies required by your
  494.     monitor.

  498.       C. S3 based SVGA: 
  499.  
  500.     Requires a Super VGA that is based on the S3 86C911, 86C924,
  501.     86C928, 86C801 or 86C805 chips with a minimum of 1 MB of RAM.

  505.       D. TIGA compatible Adapter:
  506.           
  507.     Requires a Hi-Resolution graphics adapter that is 100% compatible 
  508.     with TIGA (Texas Instruments Graphics Adapter) version 2.0 or
  509.     greater.
  510.  
  511.     Many graphics cards that are based on the Texas Instruments TMS34010
  512.     or TMS34020 graphics processors are TIGA compatible. 
  513.  
  514.     In order to work on these types of adapters a TIGA driver must be 
  515.     loaded in addition to AutoMate/PRO. We do not supply TIGA drivers 
  516.     therefore you will have to install the TIGA driver supplied with your
  517.     graphics card.
  518.  
  519.     However we do supply a file called AUTOMATE.RLM which is the TIGA
  520.     Relocatable Module that is used for AutoMate's DLIST mechanism. 
  521.     INSTALL will copy AUTOMATE.RLM to your TIGA directory or to the
  522.     AUTOMATE directory. AUTOMATE.RLM must be in the same directory as

  540. 8. AutoMate/PRO's Menu System:
  541.  
  542.      AutoMate/PRO's menu system is a sophisticated and flexible system
  543.      but at the same time is very simple to use and to customize. 
  544.      AutoMate's menu system includes four different types of user config-
  545.      urable command menus: 1. Main Icon menu; 2. Toolbar menu; 3. Slide
  546.      submenus; 4. and Quick Command menu.
  547.  
  548.      The menu system also includes a powerful set of functions that allow
  549.      the user to easily customize AutoMate's menus to fit his/her needs.
  550.      The user will be able to quickly create an icon from an AutoCAD 
  551.      drawing using AutoMate's "Iconize" command. Then the icon can be
  552.      added to one of the icon menus with his or her choice of AutoCAD
  553.      command(s) attached to it. Icons can also be rearanged in the menus,
  554.      moved to a submenu (via AutoMate's clipboard) or even deleted if 
  555.      they are not needed. AutoMate/PRO's menu system also includes a very
  556.      user-friendly "Edit" function which provides the user with a quick
  557.      and easy means of modifying the Labels or Commands in any of 
  558.      AutoMate's menus.
  559.  
  560.      Also included in AutoMate's menu files are the button commands and
  561.      default size information for AutoMate/PRO's Birdseye, Magnifying 
  562.      Glass, Real-Time windows as well as the default sizes for the Icon
  563.      and quick menus.
  564.  
  565.      Different menu files will be installed based on which "Display
  566.      Resolution" and "Language" you select during the AutoMate/PRO
  567.      software installation.
  568.  
  569.       For example: If you select a resolution of 1024x768 the size of 
  570.           the ICONS in the popup ICON menu will be larger than if you 
  571.           select 800x600 or 640x480. Also the default window sizes are 
  572.           different to compensate for each different resolution.
  573.  
  574.      If after installing AutoMate/PRO you find that your monitor cannot
  575.      handle the resolution you selected, you should re-run the INSTALL
  576.      and select the resolution that is required by your monitor.
  577.      During the installation you should allow it to install the new menus
  578.      so that the appropriate sized menus for the new resolution will be
  579.      copied.
  580.  
  581.  
  582.       A. VMI Main Icon Menu (AUTOMATE.MNU) -
  583.       ----------------------------------------
  584.     AutoMate's main Icon menu consists of a popup window containing
  585.     several icons which are bound to common AutoCAD commands. This is
  586.     a heirarchical menu which can contain multiple levels of sub-menus.
  587.     Some of the icons will bring up icon sub-menus or slide sub-menus
  588.     which contain other commands. AutoMate's main icon menu is complete-
  589.     ly user configurable. The user can add as many icons an/or submenus
  590.     as he/she wishes and there is no limit to the number of levels of
  591.     sub-menus you can have.
  592.  
  593.     The icons used in AutoMates Main icon menu and it's icon submenus
  594.     are created from AutoCAD drawings using AutoMate's "Iconize"
  595.     function. The iconize function is accessed by picking the menus
  596.     "File" button at the top of the menu. You will have a choice of 
  597.     several different sizes for your icon. The most common size is 
  598.     48-pixels. However if you specified a low display resolution (i.e.
  599.     800x600 or 640x480) during INSTALL then 32-pixel icons will be 
  600.     installed. Iconize will create a targa file (*.TGA) using a file 
  601.     name that you specify.
  602.  
  603.     To add an icon to the main icon menu or one of its sub-menus just 
  604.     pick the "Modify" button at the top of the menu and then select 
  605.     the "Add" option. You will be prompted for the filename of the Icon,
  606.     the label that appears under the icon in the menu, and the command
  607.     that will be bound to the icon. There are other modify options that
  608.     will let you rearange the position of the icons, delete icons or
  609.     even edit the label or command attached to an icon.
  610.  
  611.     Note: AUTOMATE.MNU is the main menu file which contains several 
  612.           begin_menu/end_menu sections that contain the commands used 
  613.           in different parts of AutoMate's menu system. 
  614.  
  615.     The following is a list of menu sections included in AUTOMATE.MNU:
  616.  
  617.       begin_menu 1 ........ AutoMate's main ICON menu commands.
  618.       begin_menu 2 ............ Main ICON menu "File" options.

  631.       B. Toolbar Menu (TOOLBAR.MNU) -
  632.       ---------------------------------
  633.     The toolbar menu is the newest addition to AutoMate's menu system.
  634.     AutoMate's toolbar menu is an optional on-screen Icon menu which
  635.     is displayed as a single vertical strip of icons on the left side
  636.     of the screen. This menu is similar to the Main Icon menu in that
  637.     it is also user configurable and includes sub-menus.
  638.  
  639.     The main toolbar menu contains OSNAP commands, a tools submenu as well
  640.     as Draw and Edit sub-toolbars. The tools sub-menu includes icons for 
  641.     activating AutoMates productivity tools (i.e. Birdseye, Magnifying 
  642.     Glass, Quick menu etc.). At the top of each toolbar menu is a "Modify"
  643.     button which contains all of the toolbars modification functions
  644.     (i.e. Add sub-menu, add icon, delete icon, cut, paste and edit). By 
  645.     using these modify options you can easily customize the toolbar menu 
  646.     to fit your needs. 
  647.  
  648.     If you do not wish to use the toolbar, you can disable it from the
  649.     AutoTune Options menu.
  650.  
  651.  
  652.     Attention ACAD11 or ACAD10 (P386) users:
  653.  
  654.       If you are going to use the Toolbar's OSNAP commands with AutoCAD 11
  655.       or 10 (P386) you will have to modify the commands to remove the
  656.       transparent character (') at the beginning of the command. AutoCAD 
  657.       Release 12 will recognize OSNAP commands with the transparent
  658.       character but AutoCAD Rel 11 and 10 (P386) do not. If you try to
  659.       use the transparent character with OSNAP's on ACAD11 or 10 (P386)
  660.       you will get an UNKNOWN COMMAND error.
  661.  
  662.       To remove the transparent character just select "EDIT" function 
  663.       from the toolbars "Modify" menu. Then pick the OSNAP Icon that you
  664.       wish to change. A dialog box will come up which shows the Icon
  665.       file name and the actual command. Click on the command line and
  666.       then just delete the (') character at the beginning of the command.
  667.  
  668.  
  669.       C. Quick Command Menu (Part of AUTOMATE.MNU) -
  670.       ------------------------------------------------
  671.     AutoMate's Quick Command Menu is a simple, single tiered popup
  672.     text menu. The quick menu was designed to hold the commands that 
  673.     you use most frequently. Commands or macros can be added quickly
  674.     without having to create an icon to use with it. The quick menu 
  675.     also has most of the same modify options (i.e. add, delete, move,
  676.     swap and edit) as in AutoMate's other menus.
  677.           
  678.  
  679.       D. Slide Sub-Menus (TABLET.MNU) -
  680.       -----------------------------------
  681.     AutoMate's slide sub-menus consist of several sub-menus (i.e. Draw,
  682.     Edit, OSNAP, Inquiry, Tablet etc.) which are all accessed from
  683.     the main icon menu. The slide sub-menus contain icons that are
  684.     made from AutoCAD slides which look the same as the symbols used
  685.     on AutoCAD's tablet overlay. The slides used for the menus are 
  686.     included in a slide library file called TABLET.SLB. The commands
  687.     used in the slide menus are included in a file called TABLET.MNU. 
  688.  
  689.     AutoMate's slide menus were provided as an alternative method of 
  690.     entering AutoCAD commands for users who are already familiar with
  691.     AutoCAD's tablet menus. 
  692.  
  693.     The slide submenus are not easily re-configurable. Any changes to 
  694.     these menus will have to be done by manually editing the TABLET.MNU
  695.     file. Refer to the AutoMate/PRO users guide for more information
  696.     on modifying the slide sub-menus.
  697.  
  698.  
  699.       E. Macro Commands -
  700.       --------------------
  701.       One of the most powerful features of AutoMate's menu system is the
  702.       ability to easily create your own Macro commands which can be added
  703.       to any of AutoMate's menus. A Macro is two or more commands strung
  704.       together to create a sequence of commands that can be executed by
  705.       by a single menu pick. We have provided a few examples of some 
  706.       simple macros in AutoMate's Quick Command menu. The simplest type
  707.       of macro is made up of a single command with some sort of parameter
  708.       or value after it (i.e. SNAP ON). The delimiter used to seperate
  709.       commands in AutoMate/PRO's macros is a <SPACE> which has the same
  710.       effect as an AutoCAD <RETURN>. By using this macro you can reduce
  711.       the number of steps it takes to turn Snap on from 2 steps to 1.
  712.       More complex macros can save many more steps thus saving you
  713.       several hours on some designs. Another slightly more complex macro
  714.       which we have provided as an example in AutoMate's Quick menu is
  715.       the "Change Color" command. This macro requires user interaction
  716.       (to specify a new color and to pick the object to change color) and
  717.       is designed for one specific purpose (to change the color of a
  718.       single entity and then terminate the command). By using this macro
  719.       you can reduce the number of steps to perform the change color
  720.       function from 9 steps to 4. Since the change color macro required
  721.       user interaction, it was written using AutoLisp which provides a
  722.       simple command for pausing for user interaction. The following is
  723.       the syntax used in the sample "change color" macro:
  724.  
  725.            (command "chprop" pause "" "c" pause "" null)
  726.  
  727.       First the chprop command is executed; then pause waits for the user
  728.       to pick the object to change color of; C selects color as the 
  729.       property to change; then pause waits for the user to enter a color.
  730.       The "" executes an AutoCAD return function.
  731.       
  732.  
  733.       F. Block Management -
  734.       ----------------------
  735.       Another very powerful but often overlooked feature of AutoMate's
  736.       menu system is the ability to use the Icon menu (or one of its 
  737.       sub-menus) as a "Block Management" system. This means that you can
  738.       create a menu which can be used to Insert Blocks into your current 
  739.       drawing. The icons used in the menu would be small representations
  740.       of the actual blocks that are associated with each icon.
  741.  
  742.       For example: If you were an architect you may have a block sub-menu
  743.           that contains icons of all the different types of doors or
  744.           windows that you use in your designs.
  745.  
  746.       Associated with each icon would be an external block drawing which 
  747.       can easily be inserted into your drawing just by picking the
  748.       appropriate icon in the block menu.
  749.       The command attached to each Icon would be the AutoCAD INSERT
  750.       command followed by the path and filename of the block.
  751.       To create an Icon for a particular block you can just draw a simple
  752.       representation of the block and then Iconize it, or just insert
  753.       the block into a blank drawing, scale it to nearly fill the screen
  754.       and then Iconize it.
  755.  
  756.       We have provided a sample "Block Menu" which contains a few simple 
  757.       icons and blocks. The drawings in the sample block menu are not 
  758.       intended to be used in real drawings. They are only provided to
  759.       help demonstrate how easy it is to create your own block management
  760.       system using AutoMate's menu system.
  761.  
  762.       
  763.       G. Converting Previous versions of AutoMate menus -
  764.       ----------------------------------------------------
  765.       Due to the complexity of the changes to AutoMate's menu system in
  766.       this version of AutoMate/PRO, previous versions of AutoMate menus
  767.       are not entirely compatible with this new version of AutoMate.
  768.  
  769.       If you have made changes to your current AutoMate menus that you
  770.       would like to use with this new version of AutoMate, you will have
  771.       to convert your existing AUTOMATE.MNU file to be compatible with
  772.       this version of AutoMate. The following is a list of the changes
  773.       that you should make to your existing AUTOMATE.MNU file. The first
  774.       two entries are required changes and the rest are optional. However
  775.       if you don't make the optional changes you will not have access to 
  776.       several of AutoMate's new features:
  777.  
  778.       a. Required - Add following lines to top of your AUTOMATE.MNU file:
  779.

  879. 9. TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE:
  880.  
  881.     A. Problem (AutoCAD 12 configuration):
  882.  
  883.      AutoMate/PRO does not show up in list of "Available Video Displays"
  884.      during AutoCAD 12's Video Display configuration.
  885.        
  886.        Possible causes:  
  887.  
  888.      a. The directory containing the AutoMate/PRO driver files has not
  889.         been appended to the "SET ACADDRV=<path>" statement. 
  890.  
  891.      b. The "SET ACADDRV" statement containing the AutoMate directory has
  892.         not yet been executed.
  893.  
  894.      c. A Batch file used to invoke AutoCAD contains a different
  895.         "SET ACADDRV" statement other than the one containing AUTOMATE.
  896.         If you are using a batch file (i.e. ACADR12.BAT) which already 
  897.         contains a "SET ACADDRV" statement then you must append the
  898.         AUTOMATE pathname to it as shown in the following example:
  899.  
  900.         SET ACADDRV=C:\ACAD12\DRV;C:\AUTOMATE
  901.  
  902.  
  903.      d. Another "SET ACADDRV" statement (which dosen't contain the 
  904.         AutoMate directory) has been executed after the one containing
  905.         the AutoMate directory. The "SET ACADDRV" statement should only
  906.         be executed once. If you have more than one "SET ACADDRV" 
  907.         statement, the last one executed will override any previous ones.
  908.  
  909.      e. RCAMATE.EXP file is missing, or not in the directory indicated
  910.         by the <path> in the SET ACADDRV=<path>.
  911. .............................................................................
  912.  
  913.     B. Problem (AutoCAD 11 configuration):
  914.      
  915.      Get following error when running AutoCAD 11's "Video Display
  916.      Configuration":
  917.  
  918.            "Cannot find ADI P386 display driver."
  919.  
  920.        Possible causes:  
  921.  
  922.      a. You have not booted your system after installing AutoMate/PRO
  923.         in order to execute the "SET" statements that were added to
  924.         AUTOEXEC.BAT during AutoMate/PRO installation.
  925.  
  926.      b. You did not allow the AutoMate/PRO INSTALL utility to add the
  927.         set statements to AUTOEXEC.BAT and therefore have not yet been
  928.         executed. 
  929.  
  930.         The SET statements must be executed before configuring 
  931.         AutoCAD 11's video display so that AutoCAD knows where to find 
  932.         the driver.
  933. .............................................................................
  934.  
  935.     C. Problem (AutoCAD 12):
  936.                
  937.      Try to bring up an AutoCAD drawing and get following errors:
  938.  
  939.       "Please correct display adapter/configuration inconsistency".
  940.  
  941.       "FATAL ERROR: Can't start display driver" 
  942.           
  943.  
  944.        Possible causes:  
  945.  
  946.      a. AutoCAD may not be configured correctly for AutoMate/PRO.
  947.         Refer to section 6 of this document "CONFIGURING Autodesk 
  948.         applications for AutoMate/PRO"
  949.  
  950.      b. If you are using a VESA or TIGA compatible Adapter and selected
  951.         the VESA or TIGA Adapter type during AutoMate installation,
  952.         you may have forgotten to load the appropriate VESA or TIGA
  953.         driver in addition to AutoMate/PRO.
  954.  
  955.      c. If you are using a TIGA compatible adapter you may have forgotten
  956.         to copy AUTOMATE.RLM to the directory containing your TIGA 
  957.         software. INSTALL copies AUTOMATE.RLM to your AUTOMATE direc-
  958.         tory. You must copy AUTOMATE.RLM to the directory that contains
  959.         the TIGA software for your graphics adapter.
  960. .............................................................................
  961.  
  962.     D. Problem (AutoCAD 11 or 10_c10):
  963.                
  964.      Try to bring up an AutoCAD drawing and get following error:
  965.  
  966.       "Cannot load ADI P386 driver."
  967.       "Please correct display adapter/configuration inconsistency".
  968.  
  969.        Possible causes:  
  970.  
  971.      a. "SET DSPADI=<path>\RCAMATE.EXP" statement is missing in
  972.         AUTOEXEC.BAT file. INSTALL should have put this in your
  973.         systems AUTOEXEC.BAT file. If you did not allow INSTALL to
  974.         modify your AUTOEXEC.BAT you must make sure this command
  975.         is executed each time before entering AutoCAD. 
  976.  
  977.      b. RCAMATE.EXP file is missing, or not in the directory indicated
  978.         by the <path> in the SET DSPADI=<path>\RCAMATE.EXP.
  979.  
  980.      c. A Batch file used to invoke AutoCAD contains a different
  981.         "SET DSPADI" statement other than the one containing AUTOMATE.
  982.         If this is the case, replace it with the statements from 
  983.         AUTOMATE.BAT.
  984.  
  985.      d. A different ADI driver (i.e. one supplied with the graphics 
  986.         board or one left over from a previous installation) is 
  987.         being loaded after AutoMate/PRO. Make sure there is not another
  988.         ADI driver being loaded in AUTOEXEC.BAT or in the batch file
  989.         you use to invoke AutoCAD.
  990.  
  991.      e. AutoCAD 11 may not be configured correctly for AutoMate/PRO.
  992.         Refer to section 6 of this document "CONFIGURING Autodesk 
  993.         applications for AutoMate/PRO"

  995.  
  996.     E. Problem (AutoCAD 12 digitizer/plotter configuration):
  997.  
  998.      Try to configure AutoCAD 12 for Digitizer and/or Plotter but only 1
  999.      or 2 options shown in list of available Digitizers and/or Plotters.

  1001.        Possible causes:  
  1002.  
  1003.      a. The "SET ACADDRV" statement does not contain the path name of
  1004.         the directory (Usually C:\ACAD\DRV or C:\ACAD12\DRV) containing
  1005.         the drivers supplied with AutoCAD Release 12.
  1006.  
  1007.            If your AUTOEXEC.BAT file did not already contain a statement
  1008.            similar to the following:
  1009.  
  1010.                SET ACADDRV=C:\ACAD12\DRV
  1011.  
  1012.            then the AutoMate/PRO INSTALL utility may have added a line 
  1013.            similar to the following:
  1014.

  1017.            If this was the case, AutoCAD configure will find the AutoMate
  1018.            display driver but will NOT find the DIGITIZER and PLOTTER
  1019.            drivers which are in the C:\ACAD12\DRV directory.

  1021.            The "SET ACADDRV" statement should include both paths as shown
  1022.            in the following example:

  1027.     F. Problem (AutoCAD 12 configuration):

  1029.      Try to configure AutoCAD 12 by typing "ACAD -r" but get following

  1037.      a. The environment variable "ACAD" has not been set. You should have

  1062.     H. Problem:

  1064.      Try to configure Tablet Menus, and one of AutoMate/PRO's windows

  1085.      AutoCAD menu text looks very large (as if displayed at a low

  1090.         AutoMate/PRO has two text sizes available (large and small)
  1091.         with the default size set to LARGE. If you would like to set
  1092.         the size to SMALL, run the AUTOTUNE utility, select "OPTIONS"
  1093.         and then activate the "SMALL TEXT" option.

  1095.   
  1096.     J. Problem (AutoCAD grid):
  1097.  
  1098.      AutoCAD grid dots are barely visible (as a dark blue color) or not
  1099.      visible at all.
  1100.  
  1101.      If your grid color is set to the default color (#7-white) and if
  1102.      you have AutoMate's "VIEWPORT RENDERREADY" enabled the grid will
  1103.      be a dark blue color instead of white. 
  1104.  
  1105.        Solution:  
  1106.  
  1107.      To resolve this problem, use AutoTune's "Tool Settings" option to
  1108.      change the grid color to color # 255 (for a 256 color adapter) which
  1109.      is the last white color at the bottom of the color palette.
  1110.      
  1111.      If you only have 16 colors available then set the grid color to
  1112.      color # 15 which is also white.
  1113.  
  1114.      This should force the grid color to remain white regardless of
  1115.      whether "VIEWPORT RENDERREADY" is enabled or disabled.
  1116.

  1118.  
  1119.     K. Problem:
  1120.  
  1121.      AutoCAD display is shaky.
  1122.  
  1123.        Possible causes:  
  1124.  
  1125.      a. Your graphics adapter is not configured correctly to match the 
  1126.         horizontal and vertical scan rates of your monitor. Refer to
  1127.         your graphics adapter manual; You may have to change a jumper,
  1128.         a switch or run a mode utility to configure your adapter for
  1129.         the scan frequencies and resolution required by the monitor.
  1130.  
  1131.           For Example: If you have an ET4000 based SVGA you will have
  1132.                to run the VMODE utility each time before enter-
  1133.                ing AutoCAD.
  1134.            
  1135.      b. Your monitor may be getting interference from some outside source
  1136.         such as another monitor, an electric motor, a faulty power supply
  1137.         inside your computer or monitor, a high voltage power line, etc.
  1138. .............................................................................
  1139.  
  1140.     L. Problem (VESA): 
  1141.  
  1142.      AutoCAD display is only at 640x480 resolution with 16 colors even
  1143.      though you selected "VESA compatible SVGA" and "1024x768" resolution
  1144.      during AutoMate/PRO installation.
  1145.           
  1146.        Possible causes:  
  1147.  
  1148.      a. The VESA driver for your graphics card has not been loaded. To
  1149.         use AutoMate/PRO's VESA compatible software, you must also load
  1150.         a VESA driver in addition to AutoMate/PRO. If you selected VESA
  1151.         but AutoMate cannot find the VESA driver, it will default to 
  1152.         640x480 at 16 colors.
  1153.  
  1154.      b. Your graphics card and/or VESA driver is not capable of display-
  1155.         ing 256 colors at the resolution you selected. AutoMate's VESA
  1156.         compatible software requires 256 color capability otherwise it
  1157.         will default to 640x480 at 16 colors.
  1158.  
  1159.         Refer to section 7 (COMPATIBLE DISPLAY ADAPTERS) above for more
  1160.         information on VESA compatible SVGA's. This section also explains
  1161.         how to use the "VESALIST.EXE" utility to determine the resolution
  1162.         and color capabilities of your graphics card and VESA driver.

  1165.     M. Problem (TIGA):
  1166.      
  1167.      Selected "TIGA compatible Adapter" during AutoMate/PRO installation
  1168.      but get following error when trying to bring up an AutoCAD drawing:

  1170.        "AutoMate Error: Tiga CD error [-4]"
  1171.  
  1172.        "Please correct display adapter/configuration inconsistency".
  1173.            
  1174.  
  1175.        Possible causes:  
  1176.  
  1177.      a. The TIGA driver for your graphics card has not been loaded. To
  1178.         use AutoMate/PRO's TIGA compatible software, you must also load
  1179.         a TIGA driver in addition to AutoMate/PRO.
  1180.  
  1181.      b. Your graphics adapter or TIGA driver is not 100% compatible with
  1182.         the TIGA 2.0 (or greater) specification.
  1183.  
  1184. .............................................................................
  1185.  
  1186.     N. Problem:
  1187.      
  1188.      Part of AutoCAD display (i.e. menu and status areas) comes up
  1189.      but then gets kicked out to DOS prompt before drawing appears.
  1190.      In some cases you may see the errors "Too many open files" or
  1191.      "Automate configuration file not found".
  1192.  
  1193.        Possible causes:  
  1194.  
  1195.      a. Make sure you have "FILES=" set in your systems CONFIG.SYS
  1196.         file. We recommend that you set it to at least 20 as shown
  1197.         below:

  1200.         Note: If the problem continues try raising the number.

  1203.     O. Problem (AutoMate menus):

  1205.      AutoMate/PRO's On-Screen icons not visible.

  1209.      a. Make sure AutoCAD is configured correctly for AutoMate/PRO.
  1210.         Refer to section 6 of this document "CONFIGURING Autodesk 
  1211.         applications for AutoMate/PRO".

  1213.      b. Make sure the "On-screen Icons" are enabled in AutoTune's option
  1214.         menu.

  1216.      c. AutoMate/PRO's menu file "AUTOMATE.MNU" may have gotten corrupted.
  1217.         To restore the menu, copy "AUTOMATE.SAV" (in the AUTOMATE 
  1218.         directory) to "AUTOMATE.MNU".

  1221.     P. Problem (Rubber band lines):
  1222.      
  1223.      With the drawing Background Color set to WHITE, the UCS Icon and
  1224.      rubber band lines are not visible.

  1228.      a. Set the pickbox color to black using the AutoTune utility.
  1229.         From AutoTune's "SETUP MENU" select Tool Settings and then
  1230.         select "Pickbox Color". Move cursor to color black.

  1235.      With the drawing Background Color set to WHITE, cannot set the
  1236.      drawing color to BLACK or change the color of an entity to black.

  1240.      a. Specify color number "7" which is normally white if the back-
  1241.         ground color is anything other than WHITE. However if the
  1242.         background is white then color 7 defaults to BLACK.

  1247.     R. Problem (Toolbar OSNAP commands with ACAD11):
  1248.      
  1249.      Get "Unknown Command" error when trying to access the OSNAP command
  1250.      from AutoMate's new Toolbar menu when running AutoCAD 11 or 10 (P386)
  1251.      
  1252.  
  1253.        Solution:  
  1254.  
  1255.      a. If you are going to use the Toolbar's OSNAP commands with 
  1256.         AutoCAD 11 or 10 (P386) you will have to modify the commands to 
  1257.         remove the transparent character (') at the beginning of the 
  1258.         command. AutoCAD Release 12 will recognize OSNAP commands with the 
  1259.         transparent character but AutoCAD Rel 11 and 10 (P386) do not. 
  1260.         If you try to use the transparent character with OSNAP's on ACAD11
  1261.         or 10 (P386) you will get an UNKNOWN COMMAND error.
  1262.  
  1263.         To remove the transparent character just select "EDIT" function 
  1264.         from the toolbars "Modify" menu. Then pick the OSNAP Icon that you
  1265.         wish to change. A dialog box will come up which shows the Icon
  1266.         file name and the actual command. Click on the command line and
  1267.         then just delete the (') character at the beginning of the command.

  1272. 10. MISCELLANEOUS NOTES:

  1274.     A. CAD Overlay ESP and AutoCAD 11:
  1275.  
  1276.     There have been several reports of AutoMate/PRO not working with the 
  1277.     latest release (Version 3.50) of Image Systems CAD Overlay ESP.  This
  1278.     is not true.  AutoMate/PRO merely needs several files that exist in
  1279.     the environment variable DSPADI directory.  CAD Overlay gets in front
  1280.     us by redirecting DSPADI to their application and chaining us off of
  1281.     them. 
  1282.  
  1283.     Simply, here is what the user needs to do to get CAD Overlay running 
  1284.     with AutoMate/PRO and AutoCAD 11:
  1285.  
  1286.     a.  Copy the file AUTOMATE.CFG from the current AutoMate 
  1287.         (usually c:\automate) directory to the CAD Overlay directory
  1288.         (usually c:\cadovl).
  1289.  
  1290.     b.  Copy the file AUTOMATE.MNU from the current AutoMate
  1291.         (usually c:\automate) directory to the CAD Overlay directory
  1292.         (usually c:\cadovl).

  1294.     c.  Copy the file TABLET.MNU from the current AutoMate
  1295.         (usually c:\automate) directory to the CAD Overlay directory
  1296.         (usually c:\cadovl).

  1298.     d.  Copy the file TABLET.SLB from the current AutoMate
  1299.         (usually c:\automate) directory to the CAD Overlay directory
  1300.         (usually c:\cadovl).

  1317.     Two commands (VMI_ICONS_OFF and VMI_ICONS_ON) have been added to
  1318.     the AutoMate/PRO driver. These commands were provided to allow the
  1319.     user to temporarily disable the ONSCREEN ICONS from the AutoCAD
  1320.     command prompt before configuring a tablet menu using AutoCAD's
  1321.     TABLET command. This is necessary to prevent one of the onscreen
  1322.     icons from being activated when picking the corners of the menu 
  1323.     areas during tablet configuration.
  1324.  
  1325.       VMI_ICONS_OFF - Temporarily disables the Onscreen Icons. After
  1326.               the AutoCAD TABLET command is successfully 
  1327.               completed the Onscreen Icons are automatically
  1328.               enabled.
  1329.  
  1330.       VMI_ICONS_ON -  Re-enables the Onscreen Icons if the Tablet 
  1331.               command is not executed.

  1375.     F. Known Limitations:

  1377.      a. Large text mode is not available in 640 x 480 and 800 x 600 
  1378.         resolutions.

  1380.      b. AutoMate/PRO's Birdseye, Magnifying Glass and Real Time Pan and
  1381.         Zoom functions are not available when your drawing is displayed
  1382.         in AutoCAD's "PAPER SPACE" mode or in "Perspective" mode.

  1384.      c. If your are running AutoTune in the low resolutions (800 x 600
  1385.         or 640 x 480) the instructions will not be displayed. Therefore
  1386.         if you are unfamiliar with AutoTune you should refer to the 
  1387.         instructions in your "AutoMate/PRO Users Guide".
  1388.         
  1389.      d. AutoMate's "Text Screen In a Window" option is not available
  1390.         if you are using a display resolution of 640x480. For higher 
  1391.         resolutions the "Text Screen In a Window" option can be disabled
  1392.         or enabled via AutoTune. If you disable it then AutoCAD will do
  1393.         a normal flipscreen when switching to text mode. In 640x480
  1394.         mode however, there is no choice; The normal flipscreen will be
  1395.         used regardless of whether the "Text Screen In a Window" option
  1396.         is enabled or disabled.
  1397.         
  1398.      e. AutoCAD grid problem; 
  1399.  
  1400.          If "VIEWPORT RENDERREADY" is enabled the grid is a dark blue 
  1401.          color instead of white which is the default color that it 
  1402.          should come up in.
